Social Interest Solutions’ One-e-App Enrollment System Gets Boost with Recent HHS Grants
Fresno Healthy Communities Access Partners and The Los Angeles Unified School District will Utilize Funds to Further Extend One-e-App Enrollment and Renewal Efforts
Sacramento, CA, August 31, 2011 –
Social Interest Solutions (SIS), a mission-driven, nonprofit organization dedicated to leveraging technology innovation to improve consumers’ access to eligible health and human services, today announced One-e-App, their health and social services enrollment application used in several states, was at the center of some of the recently awarded Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) grants.
Earlier this month, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) awarded $40 million in grants for efforts aimed at identifying and enrolling eligible children in Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Programs (CHIP). Fresno Healthy Communities Access Partners and The Los Angeles Unified School District, both One-e-App users, received grants which will provide funding for expanding the use of One-e-App. Fresno Healthy Communities Access Partners was awarded $1.3 million while The Los Angeles Unified School District was awarded $1 million.
"We know underserved children’s chances of succeeding in life are greatly increased when they have access to eligible health and human services programs,” said Claudia Page, Co-director, Social Interest Solutions. “One-e-App has been instrumental in helping many state and local agencies achieve great progress when it comes to enrolling eligible children in such programs and these grants will help further this effort,” said Page.
“Keeping Americans healthy from a young age is the right thing to do, and it saves money by avoiding preventable diseases and conditions as they get older,” said HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius in a news release issued by the Department of Health and Human Services.
